About Us
The Amical Burundais du Grand Moncton (ABGM) Inc. is a vibrant community organization dedicated to uniting Burundians and friends of Burundi across the Greater Moncton area. We promote Burundian culture, support newcomer integration, and empower youth through mentorship, bilingual initiatives, and community-building programs.
Rooted in our rich heritage and inspired by our shared future, we work to strengthen connections, celebrate diversity, and help every member thrive.
Our Objectives
The objectives of ABGM are to:
- Create an inclusive and supportive community space.
- Promote newcomer integration through mentorship and social engagement.
- Encourage youth leadership and entrepreneurship.
- Organize cultural, educational, and social events.
- Build partnerships with organizations and institutions.
- Strengthen Greater Moncton’s multicultural identity through intercultural exchange.
Our Key Focus Areas

Cultural Promotion
Organizing cultural festivals, including Burundi Heritage Day, to showcase traditional music, dance, and crafts. Hosting art exhibits and performances to celebrate Burundian creativity. Facilitating cultural exchange programs to foster mutual understanding.

Newcomer Integration
Conducting orientation sessions to familiarize newcomers with employment, education, and local services. Running mentorship programs that connect newcomers with experienced community members

Community Building
Organizing regular community events such as potlucks, sports tournaments, and social gatherings. Creating safe spaces for dialogue, networking, and collaboration among members.
